Things that touch my heart

I loved reading this quote below on Susanna's blog.

It is truly what I wanted and want to teach my children.
What I had strived and worked incredibly hard for. I was not always successful. As a human being I failed. Maybe I "worked" too hard at it, without letting go and letting God use my efforts. Eventually, nine (soon to be 10) of our gifts have grown up
and letting God is the obvious answer.
Most didn't look back.

I remember once my sister stopping by to tell me the latest trials she was going through. She was so unhappy. I asked my oldest daughters then about 7 & 10, (now 36 & 33) "Tell Auntie when we will be happy, when our struggles stop?!" And they told her "When we get to Heaven!"
Not the answer my sister was looking for! My point was even the children knew the answer. But did they?

That was the same year I told my oldest "All of the answers are in the Bible!" To which she responded "That old book?"

My marriage was un-equally yoked. I prayed my life was their example. It wasn't. Susanna's parents prepared her. I was one parent.
Joyfully we are no longer an un-equally yoked marriage.
God is GOOD!
But damage was done. And I do not blame my husband or my children. Mostly I blame myself.
Tom and I were not raised in Christian homes.
My children did have a Christian parent.
God gives us free will.

So when I read Susanna's quote, my heart rejoiced for those Christ filled words and actions that were burned into her heart as a child and are now so beautifully carried foreward into her adult life. What a blessing and example she/they (her parents) are to us all!

"It seems like the more open we become to Him, the more responsibilities He gives us, and the more impossible it is for us to manage without Him.
My parents prepared me for a grown-up life that was made out of hard work. They reared me to expect grown-up Christian life to be a life of sacrifice. They reared me to feel uncomfortable if life gets too comfortable. So I don’t consider that something is wrong and needs to be fixed if my life involves hard work, sacrifice, or discomfort. Hard is not the same thing as bad."

A dear precious Sister in Christ with this beautiful blog~ http://beyondthesinnersprayer.wordpress.com/
Gave us this beautiful post on Christmas day~ http://beyondthesinnersprayer.wordpress.com/2012/12/25/bible-study-keeping-the-faith-in-the-storms-of-life/

A new bible study on trials. I loved it. And it was timely.
That is how I found this next quote!
This morning on Barb's blog I saw Loren's comment on how he works through difficult trials~
He tells himself this~
1. God is good, he loves you, and he wants what’s best for you. 2. God is wise. 3. God is powerful.
Loren Pinilis

I have been repeating this out loud throughout my morning. These words have been delightful to say out loud as well as to myself. They make the kids smile too!
I know I could also quote a corresponding verse and it would bring comfort as well.
But Loren gave me the wonderful idea. And I just wanted to share it here.
God uses ALL things for His Good! ALL things! That is so encouraging. Not just good things, fun things, ALL things!

I hope today finds you rejoicing in His Name!
(((HUGS))) and LOVE!
